Eric Matthews 14/04/23 – 27/11/2004. My Grandad was a kind & caring man, he was my hero. I am so glad to have known & loved him. He was a loyal Wolves supporter & a proud steam train driver, a true socialist who always said that you should help those who can’t, not won’t, help themselves. He thought the RNLI was a wonderful thing, helping people in distress, at sea, no matter who they were. So his name is on the ‘Eric’s Legend’ Lifeboat. The Launch Party date would have been his 101st birthday.
