John, you were my mentor, my manager and my friend.
You are sadly missed by your wife and lifelong love, Yvonne, your intrepid daughter, Jenny, her husband Sam and children.
Your friends miss your wise counsel and cutting wit every day. You were a fine leader and everyone still talks of you with respect and love.
After a long career in the British Army you continued to serve your country in the Civil Service supporting the Armed Forces, using your unique brand of firmness, knowledge, and humour.
